Batti Gul Meter Chalu Movie Review

Shree naayanan sinh ke battee gul milarar chaaloo mein kuchh cheejen hain jo vaastav mein saamane aatee hain, and aamamen se pramukh nahatak lalita nautiyal (shraddha kapoor) hain. There is no motivation behind why you can send me a message, however I have a message from a logon that demonstrates to me the name of the individual, yet I don’t comprehend what I am stating yet I have an issue with him.

Lalita is a person who likes to live his life to live his life. She is a harsh, energetic young woman who wishes to be fashion designer. She thinks she is not less talented than Bollywood’s AC coatier Manish Malhotra and Rohit Baal.

She enjoys small things. For example, she likes to have a cup of tea and homemade food for a meal at the posh restaurant. The life of Lalita alias Nauti revolves around her two friends Sundar Narayan Tripathi (Divyendu Sharma) and Sushil Kumar Pant alias SK (Shahid Kapoor). Tripathi is a little knowledge and is reluctant to go out on a limb in life since he wouldn’t like to lose.

On the contrary, Shahid’s SK is an advocate who has always believed that generosity will not take you to places and is not wrong in earning money using dirty tricks. He does not know so much less that all this will come to bite him one day when his friend Tripathi will commit suicide after coming under pressure to pay a huge amount of Rs 54 lakh as his electricity bill.

Current light meter meter is a symbol of some harsh realities. Even after 70 years of independence, electricity is not available or partially available. The idea of making a movie in Uttarakhand only connects the authenticity of this issue.

In addition to some sexist jibs, the film works very well. Consider this: Lawyer Gulaner (Yami Gautam) wants to talk about facts and figures in court and SK responds, “I have all the facts with me and when you are here how do I talk about the figure? Can I do it? ” you know what I mean!

The authors have focused on the secondary characters. Atul Shrivastav and Sudhir Pandey have been given good character arc. Shahid Batti brings the flippension in the right amount to the meter meter. Shraddha and Divyendu also shine. I wish we could see more from Farida Jalal and Supriya Pilgaonkar.

Halfway in the film, you can start leaning ‘old wine in new bottle’, but it certainly has got its elements. Although you know how it will really end, there is enough good performance and entertainment to keep us inclined.

However, how Kumaoni actually speaks their dialect and the way the whole artist of the light-turned meter turns into a movie, there is a marked difference between the two. All the Kumaonis we can hear in the movie are “Baal” and “Lataa” (stupid). The only actor who gets the right to utter is Brijendra Art. But I’m ready to ignore it, thanks to the fascinating simplicity of the characters.

Of course there are problems. The film is not far away from being dramatic in the second half. However, this is a welcome step, to avoid being a publicist.
